Gulf Coast Medical Transport was formed by Mike Schwegman and Izzy Ghali in 2022. In late 2021 Mike’s 78 year old mom suffered a fall resulting in broken ribs, a broken foot and a shoulder injury. After arriving at her condo he had no idea how he would even get her to his car to take her to the hospital and ended up calling the fire department to help get her to his car to then transport her to the hospital. After borrowing a wheelchair from a family friend it was now time to make sure his mom got to the many subsequent mri’s and doctors appointments that followed. At that point, he very quickly realized how many people were in his same situation and the drastic need for reliable and trustworthy non emergency medical transport companies. 

 

Gulf Coast Medical Transport was formed with the intent to help other families that find themselves in a situation of needing a wheelchair transportation service that cares about the people it serves, like it was their own mom or dad. We know first hand the challenges of helping a loved one get to and from various appointments and are here to provide a hassle free and safe way of getting them there.
